Obviously a very important fact you will need to consider is your dogs diet, Beagles are generally good eaters and will pretty much eat anything you give them, do try and stick to the breeders recommended diet as a sudden change in diet may upset a puppies digestive system. You will also need to buy a water and food bowl - metal ones are best especially for puppies as they are known to chew the plastic varieties!
You will also need to consider the bed - you can get a range of different dog beds, the hard plastic variety are often the best buy rather than the wicker varieties, you may find a cardboard box with one side cut down is ideal for your new puppy as this can be easily replaced when chewed, however avoid boxes with metal staples. You may wish to purchase a cage there are many good stockist on the market it is worth looking around. And a nice blanket to curl up in and a beagle will be very happy.
You will need to Beagle proof your garden too, Beagles are notorious for escapes! So be on guard, you will also need to take care with garden ponds if you have a new puppy
It is important to vaccinate your beagle - as soon as you bring your puppy home contact your local vet to find out what programme they offer and it is important that all vaccines are met and your puppy is not taken out in public where other dogs have been until the course is finished and regular boosters must be upheld.
Once your beagle has settled in you may find it helpful to take them to a local training class you can contact the kennel club to find where your local ring craft class is. You and your beagle will be much happier if they are trained and can follow simple instructions.
But most importantly beagles are a sociable fun loving dog so they like nothing better than to spend time with you and be accepted as a much loved part of the family. Be prepared for the love and laughter a beagle will bring to your home and cherish your time spent together.
